At Escrick Pre-school we offer lots of fun, rich and exciting hands-on learning which engage children and help them enhance their experiences and opportunities.

We place a strong emphasis on creating an exceptionally nurturing home from home environment whereby we empower children and their families and build on resilience. We encourage children to embrace their own values and those of others. 

At Pre-school we have got a small passionate and ambitious team who work together to develop the prime areas of learning and the characteristics of effective learning before anything else. 

We predominantly plan our curriculum by building on children’s cultural capital to prepare for their future success. We endeavour to broaden their experiences and provide children with the best possible start to their early educational journey. 

We continually reflect upon our practice which supports us in managing the content of what is delivered on a daily basis as well as the enhancements we make to our continuous provision. 

We plan our continuous provision carefully to ensure that children are able to grow and develop their skills through play, and we hope to identify any gaps or difficulties early and address them effectively.

Tapestry

We use Tapestry as an online learning journal. All parents have access to this, and can see the progress their children are making through observations noted by the staff. They can also share their own learning experiences at home and at the weekend to support the team to see our children's whole range of abilities. Children love to describe and explain their weekend adventures using Tapestry to support their discussion.
